After successfully completing the mission, the game is saved. The difficulty level affects the number of saves.

The studio has added a new feature to the game that allows you to switch characters during combat. Every soldier knows how to swim, but if you stay in the water for a long time, you can lose some equipment. For some gameplay reasons, jumping is not available – you can climb high objects instead. The game lacks explicit health points – any character can be killed with one or two shots. Military tactics also reflect the real world, where patience, flanking, and solid cover are essential. The campaign takes place in real time, but this doesn’t imply constant fighting. Armored transport can drive through forests, helicopters have realistic controls to master. In fact, every vehicle is distinguished by its own manner of movement, and you need to be aware of it to avoid problems. The transport is based on physics as well. To get the hang of the great number of rifles, pistols and guns offered to the player you need to learn all the tricks of the local ballistics. Weapons have various characteristics like recoil, reloading and fire rate. Every detail of the setting acts in sync with the rest of its fragments. The terrain you move through looks just like in real life and contains destructible elements. Other than that, you can set up scenarios to have as many units as you want, although too much can cause lagging and overheating. The game will strike you with the most realistic simulation of the military environment. It’s easy to see that the animation runs smoothly, but the movement joystick can feel very stiff. Although the controls use the standard touchscreen layout, the app doesn’t respond well to control inputs. Unfortunately, playing the game can feel clunky. The same goes with the particles, such as its cartoon-like depiction of blood as oversized red balls flying around. This lack of detail, combined with low-poly 3D models everywhere, makes game elements easier to distinguish although it screams low production value. Visually, it uses plain colors of primarily blue and red for the opposing sides plus a few grays and greens for the environment. There are also a lot of guns and weapons to choose from. You can fight on foot as an infantry soldier or pilot any military vehicle for land, sea, and air battles.

You join the blue faction and you get to choose your role. It translates the premise and the design.

As the unofficial mobile port of the indie game, Ravenfield captures the game perfectly.
